Can I use TiVo® Genie on any mobile phone?

No, you need to have an internet-enabled mobile phone.
Simply Bookmark the TiVo Genie login page and add it your Home screen for quick and easy access.

I have a BlackBerry- do you have an application I can install?

A TiVo Genie launcher application for BlackBerry version 4.0 and above is available. If your BlackBerry is compatible it will display a link on the login screen. You just need to click and install the application which will then allow you to easily launch the TiVo Genie for Mobile website.

Does TiVo Genie Mobile cost anything?

TiVo Genie for Mobile is free for all TiVo customers - it's part of the TiVo® service! However, your mobile phone carrier may charge you for airtime or data used while browsing TiVo Genie for Mobile website.

What’s my password again?

TiVo Genie for Mobile and TiVo My Account use the same sign in information. Visit mytivo.com.au/myaccount from a PC and click on "Forgot your password?" to reset your password.

How do I know my Genie requests will be recorded?

If you have set up your account to receive email notifications you will receive an email letting you know if the scheduled recording has been successful or not, however it will generally take up to an hour for your recording to schedule to your TiVo. An email will be sent once Genie’s request goes through. We cannot guarantee your remote scheduling request will be processed in time if you send it less than one hour before the commencement of the relevant programme.

Alternatively, you can also check out how your remote scheduled recording is tracking by looking at your Request Status, under the Status tab.

What if one of my current Season Pass® or WishList™ recordings is already scheduled for the same time?

If you have two recordings already setup on your TiVo media device for the same time that you request a third one to be scheduled, your TiVo needs to know your priorities. Your Season Pass and WishList recordings are ordered in a certain way, which you can change using the Season Pass Manager under Find Programs. With your TiVo Genie scheduling, you can set your Genie recordings to take priority over your current Season Pass and WishList recordings (High Priority) or not (Low Priority).

I just activated my TiVo media device, or added a new device to my account. Why isn’t it appearing in TiVo Genie?

To see changes to your TiVo media devices you will need to sign out and sign in again. Please note that it usually takes about 12 hours after you have activated or made changes to your TiVo media device for you to be able to start scheduling.

TiVo Genie does not display correctly on my mobile:

Different phones and browsers display websites differently. If TiVo Genie for Mobile does not appear correctly on your phone, check to see if the browser you are using has different settings or modes to try.

Also be sure that "Show pictures" and "Allow Cookies" is enabled. If you are using one of the following phones, you may want to try the following settings:

On Windows Mobile devices using Pocket Internet Explorer:

  • Click on "Menu", then "View" and select "Fit to screen"

On Palm devices using the Blazer browser:

  • Click on "Options" then "Wide page mode"

On Blackberry ensure the following settings are enabled:

  • Support JavaScript
  • Support HTML tables
  • Use foreground and background colours
  • Use background images
  • Support Style Sheets
  • Show images: On WML & HTML pages
  • Content mode: WML & HTML

TiVo Genie for Mobile is part of the TiVo® service, and your use of it is subject to the Terms of Use of the TiVo® media device and TiVo® service, at www.mytivo.com.au.
